President's Message

"Gratitude is the attitude that takes you to your altitude"

An event like "Siddhi dedicated to Padma Vibhushan" Smt. Girija Devi cannot happen overnight. The wheels started rolling months ago It requires planning and hired eye first details. We have been fortunate enough to be backed by a team of very motivated and dedicated members of "Sadaj Pancham Society I cannot thank everyone enough for their involvement and their willingness to take on the completion of tasks beyond their comfort zones. I specially thank the musicians who had been the spreader of melodious tones, the audience, our press, the audio visual and media-persons.

It is most important now-a-days to preserve and promote Indian Classical Music and Dance amongst the young generations. I am worried that the rich cultural heritage and its traditional values, Guru-Shishya Parampara, the aesthetic sense etc, are fading away from society. We are grateful to famous maestros, their children and the disciples for their contributions and efforts. Moreover, India has a huge number of upcoming artists to be highlighted and supported.

PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Uddalak Samanta

President of "SADAJ PANCHAM"

The Govt. grants/financial assistance/sponsorships are required to do proper work for the welfare of Indian Classical Musicians, especially for freelance artistes who are suffering a lot now-a-days.

The positive side is that the Indian Classical Music is fortunately very alive, thriving and flowering even in this apparently unmusical era. It is attracting not only youngsters but foreigners also. But to preserve any form of music including Indian Classical Music, small musical sittings are essential where people informally exchange their musical talents and also get a chance to learn and get acquainted with that particular form of music. We should open Gurukuls/Music research centres where training can be possible for everyone. Classical Music has its specific audience. People who love Classical Music should regularly watch and listen to the concerts and recordings. Furthermore, we can make people aware about Indian Classical Music Raagas, origin, history and some other facts. It is gratifying to see that people are taking an interest in holding workshop and seminars on Indian Music.

Therefore, my appeal to everyone in India is to preserve the Indian Classical Music and enable the musicians to lead a life of dignity, so that the next generation would develop more interest, faith and enthusiasm to follow our glorious path of music.
